We have featured club members and their dogs that have achieved special recognitions - service dogs, OTCH dogs, special titles, participation in the new sport of nosework and more. We begin 2020 with a touching tale of KINDNESS as we feature a very special club member, KATE HENNESSEY and Murphette.

I first met Kate and her special Golden, Murphette in our Intro to Nosework class in the fall of 2018.  Kate is an English teacher at Sedona Red Rock High School and was featured on the front page of the Sedona Red Rock News on December 25th for her curriculum on kindness. Students in her English class studied and learned about kindness. Throughout the 3 month semester they worked on projects related to kindness such as caring for the elderly, running Veteran's Day ceremonies, working for over 70 hours at the Humane Society and much more  The class incorporated reading "The Kindness Diaries," writing essays and accumulating 168 hours of community service, art projects and field trips. Below is a link to the special article about Kate's Kindness curriculum that was featured in the Sedona Red Rock News reporting on the very special work she and her class did during the fall semester.
